Imagine an Idyllic Mountain Town with a Perfect 4th of July
The town was busy but not overcrowded. Cars filled almost every parking spot. Restaurants were busy and local businesses thrived. The parade sputtered down Main Street, as parades often do, with much fanfare and exuberance. It was an event for locals … by locals. The evening ended with fireworks over Main Street — paired with …
Park City, Social Equity, and Severance
Goodbye Diane Foster. You seemed like a good City Manager. You managed through a period of change and always appeared competent. If Tom Fisher decides to leave Summit County at some point, I would welcome you to the Summit County County Manager position. But you’re likely moving on to bigger and better things. Yet, your …

Treasure deal must be SIMPLE
I was reading another Park Record article on the Treasure purchase. Each time I get more confused. What exactly is it that Parkites (I mean the 84060 variety) will be voting on and paying for? Are you buying all the Treasure land ? Most of it? Some of it? Will you get all the rights …
Do you trust Summit County and Park City with your information?

I was about to write a scathing email about the use of Survey Monkey. …
Park City and the Basin seem crowded
Out of the mouths of babes…. Tonight I was riding on my bike with my five and three year old sons to get pizza in Kimball Junction. All of sudden, out of nowhere, my 5 year old says “wow, this place is crowded.” Yep it felt crowded. For so long we, as a community, have …
Park City’s Main Street is Becoming Just an Outdoor Shopping Mall
The Park Record has a way of clarifying what’s really happening around us. This week, they did that again. Our local paper reported that LL Bean will open a store in the former Kimball Art Center Building. One could ask the question of whether Parkites would prefer the art center in that location, even if it was …
Spring is here in Park City.
Spring has arrived in Park City. How do we know? The Chamber of Commerce has declared it.
Every time we hear the term “Bonanza Flats” it makes us cringe
If someone wrote “I live in Park Citie,” would you care? Would it influence your opinion of him. Does it matter if he doesn’t spell city correctly? If your government did the same thing, would it influence your opinion of them? How about your local newspaper? Do they have to get it right? As many people are …
We Parkites should stop freaking out about Trump and concentrate on our real issues
Can Park City stop freaking out about the election of Donald Trump yet? We hope so. From schools saying they are going to enforce bullying (we thought they already did that), to worries about whether snow will continue to fall during a Trump presidency, to the Sheriff’s Department saying they “won’t participate in any sort …
